Agadir, Morocco | | | The
sheer diversity of Morocco is simply stunning fabulous beaches along its
2,000 mile long Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts; the mighty Atlas Mountains
stretching from the Rif in the north to the Sahara in the south; the splendid
imperial cities of Fes, Meknes and Marrakech; delicious cuisine; fantastic shopping;
and, of course, its amazingly hospitable and tolerant people who, throughout the
ages, have welcomed visitors with open arms. Its a vibrant, colourful country
and enjoys an enviable yearround climate especially on the coast at Agadir (roughly
on the same latitude as the Canary Islands) where youll find a fabulous,
long, sandy beach, watersports, horse and camel riding, excellent accommodation
and a laid-back, easygoing way of life. You can swim and sunbathe throughout the
year and, on the excursions available from Agadir, enjoy fantastic shopping in
the soukhs of Marrakech (dont forget to barter its a way of
life here) and see some extraordinary sights. Agadir is a great place for spring,
autumn or winter sun and its only around 3 hours from the UK. |
| The
Odyssée Park lies just behind Agadirs long, sandy beach, alongside
which runs a pedestrianised promenade with cafés and bars, and is just
a short stroll from a wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Theres
a fascinating Saturday (dawn) market, the "Dromedary Soukh" and several
excellent excursions including Taroudant (the "small Marrakech") and
Imouzzer with its towering palms and spring waterfalls. The fully air-conditioned
Odyssée Park is set in its own gardens and boasts a swimming pool, a sun
terrace with sunbeds and umbrellas, restaurant, poolside snack café, piano
bar, gift shop, internet facilities, tennis court, gym, sauna, jacuzzi and beauty
salon. All the attractive bedrooms are doubles for sole use and have a private
