Rhodes, Greece
The Greek island of Rhodes is a great mix of the old and the new, no more so than in Rhodes Town where the wonderfully atmospheric medieval old town with its maze of narrow, cobbled streets sits comfortably alongside the newer part offering a wide selection of shops, bars, restaurants and nightspots.
There's a wealth of things to see and do in and around Rhodes – great beaches, water sports, nightspots, shops, bars and restaurants – whilst a little further afield there's the opportunity to visit two of Rhodes' biggest attractions, the Valley of Butterflies, located on the western side of the island and overwhelmed, especially in spring and autumn, with butterflies of all colours, shapes and sizes. And the Acropolis of Lindos, an absolute 'must-see', which overlooks the village of the same name and is simply stunning.
